Couple therapy is not covered by medical insurance companies. These services are "out of pocket" expenses. (Therefore, we do not bill insurance companies for couple therapy).

We accept paypal here -> paypal.me/margaretthompson
We have a "tough love" cancellation policy. If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, we require a minimum of 48 hours notice (not including weekends) for cancellation or we charge the full amount for your missed appointment. (Monday appointments must be cancelled by the Thursday before).
This is firm. Tough love. No exceptions. We offer the same policy in return. If we miss your appointment, no matter what reason, we give you a free session.
Margaret Thompson, LCSW is covered by the following insurance plans for individual or family therapy.
In October 2015, important changes in medical record keeping and billing procedures significantly impacted our office. Therapists must now use DSM-5 numerical codes to report the diagnosis and it’s severity whenever a claim is submitted for reimbursement. Increasingly stringent standards for session notes, which the insurer may audit at any time, require that they align with diagnostic criteria. The focus of these notes will be more pathological than before, with the implication that reimbursement can be denied or recouped if the insurer disapproves of the treatment and goals.
Therefore, we cannot bill your insurance as individual or family therapy when we provide couple therapy. We also cannot diagnose one partner with a mental health disorder so that your insurance will cover the cost of couple therapy.
Kenzie or Delma can answer questions regarding: scheduling an appointment, billing or payment options, choosing a therapist, or directions to our clinic.
